It's not about recruiting. It's about telling people about Jesus and His gift of salvation. It's about telling people about eternity and that they have a choice of two places. Heaven or hell. It's about giving people a chance to receive eternal life.

For True Christians, they realize the importance of making disciples. First, because it is a command from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:
"Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20Â teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
Next, because we realize that the "end" of this system of things cannot occur until the work God has established for us is completed according to his decree .
"And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come." (Matthew 24:14)
The "end of this system" is not the end of the world, but an ushering in of a new Kingdom Government establish by God and ruled by his son and those who chooses to rule with him. It will bring a cleansing to the earth. No more hunger, pain, dying, poor, all these things will be done away with under God's Kingdom by Christ.
True Christians also recognize that there is "NO HELL". Total annihilation comes to those who refuse to live a peaceful life in harmony with the guidlines of God's established Kingdom.
Jew or Muslim, Buddhist or Christian, all are invited to live in the Wonderful Paradise that our Loving God is establishing today, yes even as we preach. If you would like to be a part of that "New World" than you too should be telling others about it.

Many modern Evangelical denominations endorse a set of beliefs that are irrational, self-contradictory, and have no basis whatsoever in traditional Christian thought. Many born-again Christians are, sadly, ashamed of their faith. In order to compensate for these feelings, many folks over-emphasize the role of evangelism, and train their members to accost as many of their neighbors as possible. The ability to walk up to a stranger and present Evangelical theology without fear or embarassment is a great virtue in some circles, and is often the quickest method of gaining acceptance and status within the group.
It is ironic that the most zealous water-cooler evangelists are usually the newest converts, and so have a severely limitted understanding of the faith. And many Evangelical Churches equate emotionalism with spirituality, and consider emotional enthusiasm to be an expression of spiritual maturity. As a result, the most pushy evangelists end up feeling the most fulfilled, and usually present the Gospel to potential converts by trying to stir up excitement, rather than presenting information.

Jesus did command so
(Matthew 28:19-20) 19Â Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20Â teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. It's how religions in general persist. A religion that did not encourage recruiting would not persist in the long term. It's a basic matter of evolution. You can read all about it in Daniel Dennett's book "Breaking the Spell".

We are not recruiting people for anything. We are spreading the good news about Christ so everyone has a chance to believe or not. It's not our wish that anyone go to hell.

Because Christians churches have allways relied on the Diezmo (don't know the english word), which is a tax the believers pay to keep the church running. Of course noone believes that such a power machine subsists only on that, but the extra Pocket Money never hurts....

Because the bible tells us that there is only one way to God and that is through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. With others NOT knowing this, how can they be saved? And most Christians really do care about other people and want them to know that there is an eternal life and that we want them to spend eternity in heaven.

Evangelicals are required to preach their religon and gather more followers. However, many Christians keep their religon private, meaning they don't actively try to convert. It just depends which part of Christianity the person believes in.

Well personally I think that you should discover yourself!! They probably do it just so that they cant be proved wrong.. I dont consider myself any religeon because all it is, is a clique.. I mean think about it you could be Babtist and you could try like three different churches and they all are going to atleast do one thing different.. So if you are the person getting their beliefes shoved down your throat just read the Bible and interpret (cant spell) in your own way and if you dont like it then try new things!!
