On the ice I mean - Is it OK to get ice later without worrying about their germs?

germs cant live on ice, but they can be frozen into the ice cube to begin with, the only way of killing germs is to heat them to a temperature that will kill them as in cooking food, but germs are not all that bad for kids, if they didn't eat any germs then their immune system would not bother working thru inactivity, I wouldn't worry too much about them eating germs but be more aware of getting them into good habits of washing their hands before eating anything

If the Germs is on theirs hands when they get ice it will get on the ice and if they or you have a cold and get ice without washing your hand with soap that kill the germs you could pass that along so tell your kids to wash theirs hands that way everyone is safe from that little bug call germs
