Yes, interesting, and it would be easier if it were written more legibly, in other words correct syntax and spelling structure. But, I am funny that way. I think it should have possibly read like this:
While riding on a public transport bus, a guy asks a pretty young girl her name. She replied "2472742". He says, "That's not your name that's a number". She says, "It's both". What is the girl's name?

If that is how the riddle is supposed to read, then; My guess would be that her name is a code in the numbers, and it is a play-on-words of sorts. The numbers represent the letters in her name. When I look at my telephone there are letters above the numbers.
2=abc
4=ghi
7=pqrs
2=abc
7=pqrs
4=ghi
2=abc
It is my guess that all the letters are used once for each number. There are a large quantity of possible answers for this question. When a parent names a child, they may choose any name they please or they may coin one of their own. Commonly one is chosen to reflect the name of a relative. In the Catholic religion it is common to name a child after a saint, and other religions name their children similarly. Since the question is asked in English, I assume that the answer, must also be in English. Even if the answer reads in English, and the guy and girl are both speaking English, the name can be just about anything, since the girl can be of any nationality or religious decent. I do not believe there is one right answer for this question. Therefore I do not chose to give it. This reponse is my answer.
