It is a myth. But you will be placed into a psychiatric hospital for 72 hours for evaluation.

Myth...you get in trouble...attempting suicide is against the law..so if you do it you better make sure your dead lol

TOTALLY A MYTH. IF POLICE ARE CALLED OUT BECAUSE YOU ARE ATTEMPTING OR THREATENED SUICIDE THEY TAKE YOU INTO PROTECTIVE CUSTODY AND SEND YOU TO A HOSPITAL FOR PSYCHIATRIC EVALUATION.
