The purpose of lifting weight or any strenghtening activity is to create damage to the muscle fibers throughout the lenght of exercize. The body will then start "healing" itself and repairing the damage by creating even more muscle fibers That is how the muscles develop.
Yoga does not have the same action on the muscles. It will condition and care for the body and uscles by keeping a constant blood flow, certainly muscles are involved but at the same level.
