Absolutely. That is why there is one. Good parenting can deter children from making the huge mistake but, not all children listen.

I think that sex before marriage is a mistake. But a marriage that happens because you can't wait for sex is wrong.

Sex is a powerful driving force, full of miss conceptions. Many people divorce due to sexual incompatibility. Sexual preferences such as, what people like and dislike, what's a turn on or off, positions, frequency, and physical compatibility are all things that complicate the matter.

The point is, we should ask ourselves what sort of person would I like to spend the rest of my life with? Or, what sort of person could I give my virginity to and still want and love forever? Or even, how can I keep sex and my body sacred as it was intended; to unite physically and emotionally two who were already committed to each other with love and life.

I know it sounds silly in this day and age. But, how special would it be to say that your spouse was the one and only forever? Wouldn't that be powerful? Then you just try every thing with each other to make it interesting.

the age of consent has been around for centuries. people just don't pay much attention to it. the ages in the states range from 14 for males in Iowa to 18 in most states, averaging out to about 16. which is a huge jump historically since when America was first settled the age of consent was 12.

There probably should be, but how would it be enforced?

There isn't a social taboo about having sex before marriage, and even when there was, it didn't stop people. There's a legal age for drinking and smoking, too, and that doesn't even work.

There is one and on drinking too. But with good parenting, the state wouldn't be responsible for setting either boundary.
