I've been chatting with a guy for almost 4 months. We chat almost every night. We have lots of things in common and he's a very nice guy. He sent me his picture and he's very handsome. He also invited me to visit him in Vancouver, I'm supposed to travel in two weeks.
Last night he told me that he had lost his legs above the knee a long time ago, but he hadn't told me before because he was afraid to lose me. I'm very shocked and confused about this and I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should go or just cancell my trip. I can't belived he lied to me for such a long time. :o((

he is the same guy with or without legs.....it seems shallow to cancel your trip because of his legs. I don't think he lied to you I bet it is a hard thing for him to talk about, by you not going you are showing him his legs mean more to you than he does.

That's the thing about online chatting and dating. People don't have to tell the truth , they can pretend to be anybody they want to on the net. You said this guy was really nice and handsome. How do you know that was even his real picture? Only you can decide what to do.....I do think you would be taking a chance. Maybe you should just stay on line friends. Then again, you liked him a lot before you found out about his legs and I agree that if he is being honest now, it is sad that you changed your mind after you found out about his disability. Tough decision.

Well, am sure if u think about it a little bit more u will understand his situation..try to c it from his view, to be honest i dun think u shud cancel ur trip over this..juss try to look beyond n c the whole picture..u know, the picture u had in ur mind abt him b4 he tells u..still u're not commited to him in any way, so, if u like him to be ur friend..u certainly shudn't lose him, after all am sure it's not his fault, and remember maybe he didnt tell u the truth from the beginning bcos he didnt think that u wud hit it off so well the way u did, i mean u dun tell any person u chat with if anythin's wrong with u now do u?..hope that helped..chichi..

Well, he sounds like a really good guy. Not everything is about the looks. He may be disabled but that doesn't conceals the fact that he's a good boy from your POV. You should go and see him.

uh...yes and no is my answer because it takes a lot of thinking about. In my opinion I'd never go visit a guy I meet online but if you're okay with it then go because you never know what fate has in store. Go with your heart.

It's true; that wasn't fair to you for him to conceal that information. But...how WOULD you have reacted, had you known sooner? If you still would have agreed to meet him, then you TRULY deserve to be upset. If you would have canceled the trip, then you need to rethink what it means to care about someone.

if he didn't told you this it must be because he really like you and don't want to lost you, now taht you're about to see him he must tell to prevent you of being shoked when you'rein front of him.
It's just a leg, it seems that your relationship with this guy is built on other things like tastes and things in common, you should try to meet him and see if you can like him without his leg ^^

I think that yes he was wrong for not telling you that, but i also understand that he didnt want to tell you because being afraid that he could lose you. I think you should see him, and see if you could handle being with him
