I recently learned that my boyfriend paid one of my best (female) friends to keep one of my best (male) friends away from me at a party. It wasn't a huge sum of money, and his reasons were "to keep him from hitting on me."
I know my male friend likes me, but I have no interest in him, and my boyfriend knows this. I feel confused and hurt that my boyfriend doesn't trust me to be around this guy, and the fact that he paid my friend to keep him away from me makes me feel really weird/concerned.

So any thoughts on this, and what I should do (if anything) would be awesome...

This guy is obviously very jealous. Excessive jealousy is behind a lot of spousal abuse. I'm not saying your boyfriend is going to become abusive necessarily, but you do need to keep an eye on it.

I think you should confront him about what he did, and make it clear that you find his behavior demeaning, and you expect to be treated as an adult.

Appreciate the fact that he cares enough about you to do that. Though a little strange, he obviously cares about you. You should take into consideration that YOUR friend also accepted the money so she must feel it was a good choice.

You have a jealous boyfriend. Get rid of him.

This probably isn't the first time he's done this in his relationships, and it certainly won't be the last.
