I've been on Weight Watchers (second-time around, because I had to take hormones over the past year and they made me gain weight because I slacked off) for just five days and already my pants are pretty loose and I notice a change in mirror. Is this a sign that perhaps I'm loosing a lot of extra water weight I had on me? I know it will slow down at some point. (My goal is to lose 50 pounds by December 31, 2007 -- that will get me back to being able to wear all my Size 8 clothes in my closet.)

While your approach sounds good, I hope you are still talking to your doctor. Without knowing details, I am concerned that you don't dehydrate yourself nor retain an unhealthy amount of water.

GOOD LUCK !!

I don't mean to be rude! 50 pounds by the end of the year!?!? What kinda of plan is that?!?! I can lose 50 pounds by just 6 months!!!!!!! Forget weight watcher! Do some cardio exercise for at least 3 times a week for 30 - 45 minutes. Also, eat less than you burn! You will lose FAT, not water by doing that.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

Yes. If you are eating sensibly, the weight loss is your reward. Don't starve yourself though. Eat small portions up to f times a day. Weight lifters do this all the time.
