VCR Line Out -> DVD Line IN (lets you record tapes to DVD)

DVD Line Out -> TV Line In (use S-video or component video, if possible) (lets you view DVD's with best video signal)

Cable -> DVD RF In (lets you record TV to DVD)

DVD RF Out -> VCR RF In (lets you record TV to tape)

VCR RF Out -> TV RF In (lets you view TV and tapes using RF out of VCR) (can view tapes through DVD, as well, if your RF out isn't too good)

DVD record: select channel for TV signal or
Video Input for tape copy

DVD play: select Video Input on TV

Tape Record: select channel for TV signal

Tape play: select channel 3 or 4 on TV (using RF) or
select Video Input on DVD AND Video Input on TV (using Video path)

Good Luck, Walter!
