It is not a theory, it is real. It is common and can be extremely serious because of the narrow index between therapeutic and toxic doses.We have scientific evidence of poisoning of overdosage of Crocin ( Paracetamol).
Your doctor prescribe it for fever or pain. THe dose is different according to the age and the indication of use.
Usually adult dose by mouth is 0.5 to 1 gm every 4 to 6 hours up to a maximum of 4 gm daily. However, for children there are a lot of critiria and standard for the dose. If you are interested in that just email me.
Adult: just 10 to 15 gm of paracetamol may cause severe hepatocellular necrosis, especially with patients considered at risk of severe liver damage.
Early signs of overdosage very commonly nausea and vomiting and sometimes lethargyand sweating usually within 24 hours.
