i like this guy who is a year and a half younger then me. he's in the 7th grade and im in the 8th. i am also taller then him by about 3 inches. he seems nice and he talks to me when we see each other in the halls, and we share a lot in common with sports and what instrument we play. but im afraid to tell anyone because i dont know what my friends would think and i'm not sure how the guy would react if he found out. what should i do?

who cares what your friends think if you really like him then go for it and if they are true friends they will accept it..they might make fun of you at the start for a bit but just laugh along with them.

Just my opinion, but I think you are free to "like" who ever you want. Whether he is older or younger... within reason of course. Don't let what your friends might think stop you from possibly dating a great guy. As for not knowing what your crush will think, I'd think he would be flattered to have an admirer, especially one who is older. The only thing I can see being a problem is that I assume you will be attending high school next year while he will still be in middle school (junior high). I say get to know the guy and if you still have feelings for him, then go for it.

PS, I'm guessing that you are about 13 years old and want you to know that being "boy crazy" is perfectly normal. Don't be hard on yourself for finding many different boys attractive. :)

In general honesty is the best policy and you should not care what your friends think, only what is right. As for telling the guy you might want to get a better sense of whether he likes you back before saying anything. You could try a bit of flirting, or better yet spend some time with him outside of a dating situation. Maybe invite him to your birthday party or something like that. It can easily be seen as something other than a date.

I must admit I am a bit older but that is a good thing as experience in life does not come without its price. One suggestion I have is you might want to just concentrate on bettering yourself. You have plenty of time to date and right now you are so young. Think about your studies, friends, and as well extracurricular activities like drama, music, writing, sports and art.

I highly encourage you to wait for the right guy to come along before jumping in. When you are young you are prone to not always make the best decisions. Your innocence is a virtue and you should really save it for the right guy. Just be his friend. If you can truly be friends than something longer lasting is much more probable. Usually the best guys are the ones that go unseen by most.

if you like this guy and there are sparks between you two then go for it, your friends don't run your life and you shouldn't care what they think... if he makes you happy, they should be happy for you if they are truly your friends... you don't have to let this guy know how you feel if you are uncertain about how he feels... just continue enjoying each others company and let nature take it's course... good luck, i hope this helped.

Why do the humans think that we, dogs, are the most stupid thing on the planet? Really we will bite your head off if we want! So bow down and lick us!

well.... you need to start off by talking to him first. Also, I know that you are young, and that you are not going to care, but who cares what your friends think?
