Probably in US but somewhere else might be a consideration. Have thought about LV, Galena, Gatlenburg, beaches, riverboats, sentimental locales, etc. The helicopter ride in the Grand Canyon sounds cool but what the heck would I wear? Looking for something special, unique, different, memorable --- small and quaint --- but not bizarre.

Between the El Tovar and The Hopi House is a "dancing" platform used for dance demonstrations during the summer. Many people have been married there over looking the canyon. People have also reserved "view" suites at the El Tovar (the only guaranteed canyon view in the whole park) and gotten married on the large porches over looking the canyon. There are only 4 of these and they book almost a year in advance. Your wedding cake could be made by the El Tovar's Pastry Chef (currently Patricia Park a friend of mine).
Anyway, for information on any of this call Xanterra Parks and Resorts at 928-638-2631 and ask for the Sales Department. They can help you with everything. Some one also mentioned the Grand Canyon Railway. I don't know that phone number, but you can look them up on line.

How about the train ride from Williams to the Grand Canyon for the wedding party, and then the wedding itself at the rim of the Canyon?

Or come to Brookdale Lodge in the Santa Cruz Mountains of California, where weddings are a specialty and the neighbors are giant redwood trees and aging hippies? (Like me; I'm just a mile up the road if you want to visit.)

I think it's not where you get married that makes the marriage, so any of those places would be great, as long as it's something you both want to do. I would also like to add that Niagara Falls is great.
