The french don't roll their "r"s like the Spanish do, be careful about that. It's hard to explain, but the "r" sound comes mainly from turning off your vocal cords (like when we make an "h" sound in our language, it's more like a whisper right? Think of that.)
So to make the "r", think of H, and push your tongue back just a little to make an almost "clearing-of-the-throat" sound.

So you've got your "r", the "es" at the end is going to be SILENT. The "e" at the end will make you pronounce the "d" and you will only pronounce the "s" if you're going to say a word that begins with a vowel after it.

So, "r-eah-d"
that's the best I can do :).

first you sound out the 'r' in the normal French way (from the throat) and the rest is like 'ayd'

so its a bit like 'rrhayd'

Like waynebudd said : it sounds like "red" but you have to pronounce the "r" in the french way

rather like a cross between 'raid' and 'red' with a rolled 'r' - the 'es' is silent - indicates a plural form... means 'rigid'
