It can be done, but the weight of the paper, will eventually cause it to tear. Plus you have to repair all the holes from the staples, when you remove it. If you decide to hang it in the normal way, remember, that there are several solutions that are made to remove wall paper. They can be mixed with hot water, and sprayed on using a garden sprayer. After ten minutes the paper comes down, fairly easily. I've done it this way, and know that it works.

Probably not. Despite the aesthetics of the idea, wall board doesn't offer any hold for the staple - the weight of the paper itself would eventually pull it right from the wall.
Besides, modern pre-pasted wallpaper needs only to be soaked down with water to peel it off, to me, at least, a much better job than removing hundreds of staples from the wall.

No way, the only way to hang wallpaper is to use water. There are many products on the market that make wallpaper removal easy. They are available at any hardware store

Instead of wallpaper why not try some of the painting techniques you see at the home centers. They have different roller for different effects and also you can buy rollers with designs on them. This would be much easier and you could just paint over it later when you grow tired of it. Good Luck

Wallpaper is not designed to be hung with staples. Not a good idea. It won't look good at all. If you are looking for temp wall decoration and are not allowed to paint (renting?), use a nice quilt or balnket witha design on it as a wall hanging. It is easy to remove for moving or cleaning. That's half assed. Buy a container of vinyl paste, a paste brush or wide cheap paint brush, a wallpaper squeegee.

It would be dumb. How about hanging fabric? All you do is dip it into liquid starch, wring out quite a bit, and apply it to the wall. When you leave just peel it off.
