i have been dating a guy for 8 months and he has been really hurt in the past i told him i loved him he has yet to tell me he loved me although he gave me a diamond necklace for christmas. does he love me?

The only thing that can tell you he loves you, is if he says the words "I love you." No amount of money or value of possessions can buy that emotion. Does a diamond necklace want to spend its life with you? Does it wake up in the morning and look at you and wonder how it wound up so lucky? No. This guy may or may not love you, but you'll just have to keep your fingers crossed and wait 'til he tells you himself.

I think if he gave you a dimond for xmas he has to care about you, since he was hurt in the past he may not be ready to tell you his feelings yet,i wouldn't say the L word till he does, it will happen but i don't think it will right now, just give him time it has been only 8 months. I think when you said you loved him it may have scared him just a little. He may not be ready just yet. Have patience, i am sure he will tell you how he feels. Good luck

If he hasn't said anything its best not to get the hopes high.. But the diamond necklace could mean he really likes you a lot. Give it some time and after a while am sure he will be ures. :) All the best!

If he's been hurt he's just taking it slow. Chances are he's afraid to actually tell you his feelings towards you since he thinks if he does he'll end up getting hurt once again. Sounds like a diamond necklace is a good sign he has great feelings for you so just take it easy and see what happens. good luck to you ;o)

I would say he does, His ex probably hurt him after he told her that he loved her.....I think he's scarred. He's not going to buy you a diamond necklace if he didn't love you and he wouldn't be with you after 8 months if he didn't love you.

Yes, he loves you; it's just hard for him to say it right now. Don't bug him or push him for it; be patient and allow him room to breathe and he will out with one night on the way home from somewhere. Be at peace.
