Champion sired is BETTER than champion bloodline. Champion sired means the sire (father) is a champion - means he has been PROVEN as a good specimen of his breed (fits what the breed standard says the breed should look like). That is the sign of a person breeding good quality dogs.

Champion bloodline simply means there is/are champions in the dogs family background - which almost ANY dog, no matter how far he looks from the breed standard, will have if you go back enough generations.

Only the closest generations (direct parents) being AKC champions mean the best quality dogs. What is equally important is that the dog's parents have the proper health clearances - two basic ones to make sure of are OFA or Penn Hip certification against hip dysplasia, and CERF certification against heritable eye problems.

Champion bloodlines can be misleading..it means there are champions in the pedigree, however that could be in the first 2-3 generations or way abck 5 or more generations.

Champion sired is suppose to mean the father was a champion, however this isn't always the case since some less then responsible breeders will use that term when the grandfather or greatgrandfather was the champion and not the father.

AKC Champion sired means not only was the father registered with the AKC (Americian Kennel Club) but also, somewhere down the line the dog was either a show dog or a field competed dog. And has won...usually more than one competition. Ask the breeder for what. Looks? obediance? Best in Show? Obsticle course? Field course? There are many competitions for so many different dogs. Be sure if looking for a pup, they are not Champion Sired line. Which means somewhere down the line (not the sire of the dog you are looking at) one of them had been a champion.

You can always go to www.akc.org
That is the Americian Kennel Club of America's web page.

It means that the father is a dog show champion, which by the way elevates the price of the puppies as they have champion bloodlines going through their little veins.

Some people will say CH lines, if there is a dog or two several generations back, which means nothing in the quality of the dog.

CH sired means the father is a CH. Of course, the mother could be awful, but most people won't breed their CH dog to a crappy bit ch.

Now that people can BUY for $45 a "championship", you should ALWAYS ask to see the "championship certfifcate" that AKC sends. Also ask to see a copy of the pedigree. It should be a AKC CERTIFIED pedigree and the champions in the pedigree will be easy to see.
You can then look and see if there are actually many champions in the three or four genereations. Sometimes people say "champion lines" and there is ONE dog in the THIRD generation. I do not call that champion lines!!!!!!

champion bloodline means that there have been champion dogs in the gene pool history - champion sired means dad was a champion winner.

honeychild
It takes 16 points (minimum of 6 points comming from majors) to become a CH, not 100 points.

CH bloodlines only means that somewhere back a few generations, one or more of the puppy's ansesters was a champion. (in other words it doesn't mean squat)

CH sired means that the father was a CH,,,, but what about the mother?????

It means that the father was a champion (in the show ring). That means that he has earned 100 points or more depending on the system that the country uses, which earns him a champion status.
Edited to add, it is 100 points in Australia to become a champion. I dont know about other countries.
