and five days in jail.

No- all we would succeed in doing would be ruining the ecosystem by depriving it of light. Global warming is caused by us using fossil fuels- not by the sun. The sun worked byu itself with no damage to the environment for millions of years before we started messing eveerything up.

Haha. No, it would stay with us if we moved farther from the sun. Anyway moving farther from the sun could have some dangerous effects. The planet could get colder, our orbit around the sun could be altered which could put items in space on a collision course with us. All and all. We would still have those gases in our atmosphere and the Earth would still absorbing light which is getting trapped in. Moving farther doesn't change anything with our global warming problem. It's like trying to say if I walked somewhere else, the pants I have on wouldn't still be on when I reach my destination, just doesn't happen. But I know what you are talking about, probably World Jump Day or whatever it was called. That's just a load of crap.

Increase the penalty and jail time would be the best way to enforce litering policies.

It would be much easier to take actions AGAINST global warming; moving the earth is impossible!!! Littering doesn't play a factor in Global Warming. Rather, it is due to the carbons put out by manufactured energy use and emissions. It is a serious problem that is only going to get worse. Polar bears are now drowning (22% loss of this species) due to the ice floes melting. For 2007, they are predicting one of the warmest years on record. Out of the 10 most warm years in history, 5 have been in just this last decade! The signs of the damage we've done is escalating to the point of no return and a quick demiss. Towns in Alaska are falling into the ocean. These water levels will rise, which will cause more Sanamis. Other countries who only get enough moisture to raise food will experience famine since warmer temps. will make the mositure evaporate faster. Right now, a great deal of our flora is cycling out of season. Birds are laying their eggs earlier. These are not good signs. The earth is a rotating planet and subsequently has it's own atmosphere due to the gravity pull of this spinning action. So, the damage is here to stay. All we can try now is preventative measures to slow down the inevitable havoc. Change to lower watt bulbs in your house; the energy efficient kind. Try solar lighting for outdoors. Keep your car tuned up and tires properly inflated. If you have a yard, plant more trees and shrubs. Turn you thermostat down a couple degrees in winter, and also a bit warmer for AC in summer. Set your computer to go into hibernation if you're away for 10 minutes or so. A terrorist attack will seem minor compared to the damage we'll soon be experiencing if something isn't done RIGHT NOW! Educate yourself about this matter, and then educate others. I especially urge this in the younger generation, as you will be feeling the brunt of those who ignorantly went before you in regards to this matter and haven't taken action.

Not at all. Global warming is happening inside the atmosphere. It is the action of the OZONE layer thinning so much it looks like Mary-kate. And how does the OZONE layer thin?

1. People like us drive cars that emit Co2, and that goes out of the atmosphere, then bounces back to earth, and bounce off earth, much hotter than it was before. That hot Co2 then hits the OZONE. I don't think your idea will help unless we move a billion ligh† years from the sun, then by some unheard of mean, we blow it up.

We can't move the Earth farther from the Sun. It's impossible. $400 and 5 days in jail would be too much. Just for litter? That's not even destroying the ozone layer.

Interesting concept.

Yes in theory, but the cause of getting hotter now is not because that we are getting closer, so "in theory" this is not the solution :-(
