HI,
one of my aunts is a groomer and shaves matted cats that are brought to her and it grows back nicely. She also shaves the back end of cat before they give birth if they are a long haired like persian so it doesn't mat while she nurses her kitties. Lots of reasons to shave a cat, wouldn't you say, she also has a lot of persian owners who come in and want the lion cut with the ball on the end of the tail, the puffy feet and the mane is left long it is so cute,
Lammy

Why shave it off, I have seen cats that are groomed in salons and the hair is cut , very short and in a pattern like 1 inch squares, all over the body. Very nice interesting and short. O imagine it can be done in stripes or other shapes. If you must shave provide a sweater, they may be cold. There will be itching and a lot of scratching going on as the hair grows back I wonder how long it takes to grow it back, but it is surely to grow back if the cat is healthy. A sick cat may have patches of hair missing .

YES- I have a long haired cat that we get shaved a couple times a year, not shaved bald, but trimmed up close, a lion cut.

It grows back in a couple months.

Yes it will, but why shave it all off in the first place unless the cat has a medical problem?

yes it will grow back. fur grows back just like hair on a human or dog. don't shave the face if necessary.

my smoochie had surgery in November and had most of his tummy fur shaved off, as well as a patch on each of his front legs for a drip etc. His fur is growing back in nicely
