Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.

Since you can't take much time to prepare your food you need items you can grab, pack into a lunch bag, and go. But don't think that treats or sweets will be good for you. If you work that shift you need foods that will help you to stay awake (sweets can lull you into a sleep due to blood sugar responses). It would be best to grab a piece of fruit. Then you could have either a yogurt or the little individually packed cottage cheese containers. You might also consider the sticks of cheese. I enjoy the packs sold in grocery stores that have an individual serving of tuna packed with a packet of mayonaise and crackers. That works IF you enjoy tuna (the protein would be good).

Just a few suggestions of what I am packing for my lunch.

I've worked graveyard for years and I eat like people who work the day shift. While I'm at work at night, I don't eat a thing and I drink a gallon of water. I eat before I go to bed in the morning, again when I wake up in the afternoon, and once more before I go to work at night. I have tried to eat every other way and I always ended up gaining weight. Once I started eating this way, my weight stabilized and I feel fantastic.

Good luck and happy new year!
