To start with, how do you expect anyone to answer if we don't even know what country you live in?

Assuming you are American, as it's normally Americans who think that this site is just for them, then which state you are in would also be needed to get the information you need.

To perfect Bushraider, PCSO's do not have any skill of arrest. no more suitable than any undemanding citizen. particular's, inspite of the indisputable fact that, have the very same powers as an popular officer. As for what i imagine of PCSOs. those i understand do a very confusing pastime because of their obstacles. What i do not comprehend is why the authorities is making an investment earnings PCSOs even as a trainee constable earns a lot less? i think it does supply the impact of having extra ft on the line and lower than the coverage of neighbourhood policing it truly is okay. inspite of the indisputable fact that, I do question the philosophy behind policing that looks to placed extra artwork into construction relatives with the accepted public than coming down troublesome on the real criminals. Is the implementation of PCSOs extra of a PR action i ask your self? i think time will tell yet i'm getting the feeling that in some techniques we've been right here earlier ony to revert lower back to the tried and depended on techniques we've favourite for a lengthy time period. commonplace officials out doing what they understand perfect.

There are a lot of civillian staff who work with mounted branch as trainers, saddlers etc, it is possible that one of these was out with a horse for some reason.
It's unlikely that PCSOs are now mounted as the mounted branch are integral to the Public Order (CO11) branch and as PCSOs do not carry any protective equipment, then they would be unable to carry out any public order postings.
I have spoken to mounted officers at the base in Kings Cross and they are unaware of any plans for PCSOs to become mounted.
The role of PCSOs was designed to be the "eyes and ears" and a community based resource to deal with low level crime and anti-social behaviour. This role would be difficult to carry out on horseback.

For all the people who have commented on this question, a PCSO is a Police Community Support Officer.

It may well be that you saw a Police Staff photographer.

Are you talking about an officer on a horse as they are still police officers and need to do 2 years as a PC and then they get to choose to go to smaller units such as dog unit, etc. They are their to keep the peace instead of arresting people, thus not having the equipment.
