Hello all and thanks for ur comments:-) All are appreciated.
Ok well I was wondering cause I have these drop dead gorgeous Baby Phat 4 inch knee high boot which cost $200, I bought them online and by the time they go to my house i knew I was pregnant. I've only worn them twice because I'm worried that old tale may be true. But I really wanna get my moneys worth, I wear designer clothes but $200 bucks for boots is a bit steep fpr me and I'm being told by several moms that my feet proboaly will get bigger and my boots fit perfectly now. (So they will be to small then)
If i can't wear them I won't be broken up just disappointed cause I don't even know anyone I can give them to, but I just really wonder what u guys think
Thanks guys :-)

OH, I didn't mean throughout my whole pregnancy, I'm only 15 weeks and barely showing and I only would want to wear them for the next month or two.

the thing is, most women's feet do get bigger, usually by 1/2 a size with each child. i don't have kids yet, but i sold women's shoes for a while, and heard all the stories. during pregnancy, your feet will swell, so it will make it hard to wear them. also, you want to make sure that you are steady on your feet, because pregnancy makes you clumsy. your safety is the most important (the baby is floating around very safely), so you want to make sure your heels aren't too high. try to wear them as much as you feel is comfortable, and then you might need to pass them on, or wait until after the baby is born. some women don't change sizes, you might get lucky. just remember, safety and comfort will be the main concerns during the pregnancy, and after the baby comes, i think you might find it a little tough to run around in cute clothes after a baby (hee hee). good luck, and i hope your pregnancy goes well.

Well, it's possible that as the pregnancy progresses you'll retain some fluid and your feet will swell and the boots become uncomfortable; it's also perfectly possible that as your bump grows bigger you'll find it more difficult to keep your balance in heels as high as that and you could finish up with backache. In which case, I'd put the boots on display in a special place where you can see them and remind yourself that you'll be able to wear them after the birth ... and long boots with high heels never really go out of fashion (assuming that anybody knows what fashion is any more 'cos there's a lot of pleasing oneself, thank Heaven).
But those are the only risks. There's no magically horrible moxie that will descend upon you as a kind of irrational punishment for wearing boots - put that old wives' tale into the same box as 'don't wash your hair when you have your period' and 'don't walk under ladders.'
Enjoy the boots and enjoy the pregnancy even if you find that there's a time when you can do both at once.

Wear them now! Not all the time but for special occasions, just be careful those are high and I'm sure gorgeous!! I have 3 kids and I've got my pre-babies body back but my feet weren't so lucky. My feet grew with each pregnancy, I was a size 7 now I can wear 8 to 8 and a half. So enjoy your boots now before your feet are swollen, and maybe you'll be lucky and still fit in them after you have your baby. It's been known to happen :)

"Never say never! It's not a good idea to wear high heels during pregnancy, but that doesn't mean you can't wear them occasionally. The problem with high heels is that they alter your posture and put a strain on your lower back. The ligaments that control this area are softened in pregnancy so it's more likely that they can be stretched and damaged. Add to that the additional weight of your growing baby and the combination of baby and high heels could contribute to lower back pain, which can be severe. "
I'd say if you can wear them without breakign your neck go for it at least before you get too far along and your center of gravity begins to shift! I wear the same size shoe I did before I got pregnant with my first child 13 years ago. Some womens feet DO swell and stay swollen but mine always went back to normal afterwards.

I would put the boots in the closet and hope that they fit you after the baby is born. First of all, just as a matter of practicality, pregnancy can do funky things to your hips and back, even in early pregnancy, and the boots aren't going to be comfortable for long. Second of all, any kind of really high heel like that involves the risk of falling down, which can be a bad thing.
Sorry!

It hurts your wife a lot to wear heels and she is right the chance of a fall is greater in heels and that could hurt the baby. I didn't wear heels either because my feet would swell so bad I was in pain for the rest of the day when I had them on less then an hour. which is more important the comfort of your wife and baby or heels?

I don't know anything about that wives' tale, but I can't wear ANY of my shoes I wore before I got pregnant. Not only are my feet wider, but they are longer by half a size.

It is not advisable as you loose some co ordination when pregnant & increase you chance of having a fall. Your ligaments soften in your knees, ankles & pelvis putting you at risk of injury & falls again. not a good idea love.

High heels are bad for you! Pregnant or not!
It gives you a bad posture....and $200 for shoes??????
I'm a woman and I wouldn't spend $200 on shoes! and if you're going to have a baby, sell the shoes and start saving money for your child!

I am on my 3rd preg and I don't (and didn't) wear high heels just because I feel more comfortable with low heels. As your belly is growing, it's getting more difficult, and you get tired faster.
