If you're an atheist or a christian (or a muslim, jew, buddhist, hindu, etc don't you know all the answers already? So why post questions?

I'm being cheeky, of course. I'm just puzzled why people who are so certain and set in their views would be interested in a question and answer format that implies an exchange of ideas and information. I haven't seen much exchange going on - more people digging into rigidly set positions.

Feedback: I take your point, Theophilus, but maybe having answers isn't always as valuable as considering questions.
Factorywrench, your caps lock is on.
Ciniful, if my question was condescending I apologise, but as someone with a fairly atheist position I'd call it more self deprecating. My point was that if we atheists expect other people to affect an open mind it is only reasonable to expect the same of ourselves. Otherwise the discussion is pointless. Perhaps it is, anyway.

No, for the following reasons:
1)Perhaps people want to learn about other religions
2)Perhaps people want to know what other people of the same religion think
3)As a good sanity fearing Discordian I don't claim to know all of the answers
4)If only agnostics came here wouldn't all of the answers be either "I don't know" or "I'm not sure"?

I'd think this forum would be useless for agnostics. Do you even know what an agnostic is?
The true point of agnosticism is that you don't know whether there is a God, nor do you think it's possible to know, and nor do you care. It's not just someone who doesn't know what to believe.
I think there is a point. Some people might have questions about their own religion or the religion (or lack their of) of others.

Yay, I haven't seen a generalizing question for a whole 5 minutes. I was saddened to think all the blanket statements had disappeared for the night.
Why do you condescendingly say atheists know everything? We don't claim to. We absolutely don't claim to have intimate knowledge of an unseeable, unprovable, untouchable and unfathomable deity, like some others.
We claim to know that which we can prove, and discard that which defies reason and intelligent thought. Simple as that.

We don't know all the answers, and those who imagine they do would have to be Gods, right? So were all a little agnostic, isn't it great?

LOL! Perhaps it should be only for clerics (religion) and ghosts (spirituality). Except that the ghosts would have a tough time typing....

Some might be looking for different opinion or reasoning. Some might be looking for a better answer then what they know.

I thought it already was.
If the questions are by agnostics, how can agnostics answer them?
