How many days are questions left in voting? And how does it work after those days are up? Will a answer be determined as best answer or what? And why doesn't the person posing the question care enough to choose themselves?

Any thoughts?

They sit in limbo forever, or until there is a winner in the vote.

As for the asker not selecting a best answer, I've raised this with the Y!Amsters several times, and suggested they put a limit on the number of open questions a person can have at any one time.

That way people would have to pick a best answer to one of their questions, beffore asking another, if they hit the limit.

I think people don't choose because they already got the answer so they don't think to come back and choose an answer. In some cases, I have a hard time selecting a best answer, often because I like more than one answer, so I'd rather let the Y!A community decide, and I put it up for voting on purpose. After the voting period, the best answer is selected and you will get an e-mail that the Y!A community chose an answer for your question. In the case of a tie, the question remains up for voting for a longer time.
