excitement - whoopeee - a visitor!!!! male and female dogs can both do this - they just lose control of their bladders, like some humans do when they laugh hysterically.... if your dog is also taking off and hiding in the corners tho, instead of flattening the visitors with joy, then its fear.

you might want to watch this show called the dog whisperer, its about this guy named Cesar Millian, he is a dog trainer and he works wonder, even though you might not see that problem the first time you watch the show, he teaches other things that might help, i would take your dog for a walk more often and show her there is nothing to be afraid of...if the your dog is reluctant to go, you must force her and show her that you are the pack leader, you lead her and she will eventually follow. P.S the show is on the National Geographic Channel, the web sight is www.ngcdogwhisperer.com

My Dog does this too, I think it's to do with it getting over excited and cannot hopd it's bladder. Sounds obvoius but that is all. Try and not get her excited when you get in. If someone has a scientific reason, I would be glad to know too.

How old is your Dog? I have an older dog who gets excited when she sees someone she hasn't seen in a while, typically me or my brother if we have been out of town working. We usually just let her outside when we first come home, so when she sees us, and gets excited, and inevitably looses her bladder control, it is outside.

Have you had the dog since it was a pup, or is it a rescue dog.
If the latter it was probably abused by it's previous owners
