I was born in the Palmdale, Calif. Hospital in February of 1938, and delivered by Dr. Snook.
I have requested my birth certificate and they tell me there is no record of my birth in Los Angelos County, or anywhere in the state of Calif. I have even gotten my attorney involved to help me and he can find nothing.
Does anyone know if this hospital may have possibly burned down, or been torn down, and somehow the records lost?
If I had been born at home I could understand this, but not when I was born in a hospital and delivered by a doctor.
I have recently moved to the state of Georgia who will not give me a drivers license without a copy of my birth certificate, even though I've had a license for 50 yrs.
HELP SOMEONE!!

Hey Nova30180,

It seems that you have applied to the state of california for your birth certificate, and to the County of LA. But, I am including some web sites for this purpose just in case you or your Attorney were not complete.

One thing you might try is calling the public schools that you attended, and see if they have records of your being there. They should, and then how detaild are the records. This may give you leverage with the state, since you needed a birth certificate to register for school.

I found one web site for Medical Jobs that says there are 489 hospitals in Palmdale. That is a difficult task without making a study of the History of Palmdale and the transfer of properties and ownerships.

Did you have a California Drivers Licesnse? You had to have a birth certificate for that too. Perhaps check with the state of Ca.

And, check with SSA, they issued your SSN, based on Birth Certificate.
