I have been on Avelox 400mg for 4 days and now my other gland is doing the same and my neck back even my spine is hurting. Do you know if this could be something other than just an ear infection or a flu? I'm getting kinda worried!!!

You have a bacterial infection. The antibiotic you are taking is not effective. See the doctor again for a change of antibiotic. Better do it soon. Ear infection can lead to brain abscess or meningitis.

I am curious why he only has you on it for 4 days?? It is always 10-14 days of treatment..

An ear infection can infect the glands as well.. The anti-biotic should take a couple days to start bringing the infection under control.. But I would really question the duration of only 4 days...

I hope you feel better, ear infections are awful!

i am not a big fan of antibiotics, but sometimes they are necessary, i guess. call the doctor, let him know what he gave you isnt working, and that it is actually getting worse.
i would suggest a trip to the chiropractor.
if you dont have one that knows how to fix this, have someone rub your neck from the chin down, with your head tilted back. they use the edge of their hands, the thumb side, and sternly glide their hands from your jaw muscle, striaght down your neck, to the collar bone. do this for about 5 minutes, a few times a day.
what works for me, with an infection, i take 2,000mg vitamin c to start, then 1,000 mg every 4 hours, drink as much water as you can. do this for 4-6 days. i have never had this fail
but, if you still want the dr, call and let them know, not all antibiotics work the same, and maybe there is something else to try. just be careful, antibiotics can cause problems elsewhere in the body, especially for females..
good luck

It cold be the signs of mono, which they call the kissing disease. This disease makes you feel like you have the flu, a cold, an earache, or sore throat all at once or little by little. The best way to treat these symptoms and this disease is to get on antibiotics, penicillin, and a pain killer. This disease cures with time therefore they give you a painkiller to ease the pain.

I had chronic ear infection till 18 years of age. I got under 10 examinations, and my doctor said, that ear infection can be caused by allergies..or when you have tonsilitis many times that can be another cause too.
I would go and find a special ear and throat doctor.

oh thats not good
i would take Olive leaf extract and Charcoal capsules (probably fix the prob in 3-4 hours) and eat fresh fruit for a week
avoid any meat or dairy product
you may need some Acidophillus to counteract the anti biotics

you should really give the medication some more time usually it gets worse before it gets better.if you are uncomfortable you should talk to your doctor about what to expect and find out if you have had a turn for the worse or if this is just a part of the recovery process.
