If it's your first it may hurt a bit just cause of anxiety and not knowing what to expect but, the pain goes away rather quickly once the adrenaline kicks in. Also proximity can determine the degree of pain.If you put it on an area of little muscle tissue it will hurt a bit more.

It all depends on where you are getting it put on your body. If this is your first tattoo, I would suggest a book or MP3 player to take your mind off it. It will calm your nerves and make the experience for enjoyable. I have 11 tattoos and I use that method almost every time. Good Luck!!!

It depends where you get it done!
i had my first one about 3 months ago, i had a rather big peice on both of me hips, and it did hurt, but when they stop tattooing it doesnt hurt.
Oh and DONT take painkillers, they thin your blodd which is very bad.
most painfu places:
Hip bones
feet
elbows
knees
ribs!!
generaly the parts of your body with thin skin hurt the most!!
and if you are getting a big peice, it will hurt more lol
Hope that helps and good luck

You are obviously very young. Dont do it. You are far too young to know what will happen in your life later. Far too many young kids are getting tattoos and they will regret the decision later. What if the person you want to marry is disgusted with tattoos? Had you not gotten the tattoo, life would be perfect.
Dont follow current culture and society. Society is telling you to get a tattoo to be an individual. But all you are doing is being like everyone else! Thats not individualism at all! Be an individual and DONT get a tattoo. And here is my guarantee: No one will be offended if you dont get a tattoo. You will have greater options for jobs. You will have no regrets later in life when your skin starts to sag a bit. And you will not have to explain an ugly tattoo to your grandchildren. The biggest issue is employment. Do you really want to limit the amount of money you make? You will with a tattoo, guaranteed. Dont listen to society. Society is lying to you.

I just got my second one. The first one is on my buttcheek, kind of low. Didn't hurt that bad. The second one is just at my waist band of my pants. That one hurt bad. Lots of nerve endings. Different artist, too. The first one more gentle than the other.

Yes, it hurts really bad. Don't do it. You'll hate that tattoo later.

I had a tattoo put on my forearm, and the way I describe it is, it feels like someone is holding a lit match to your skin.
