Yeah I had to move my cat litter box only 3 weeks after I got my new Shih Tzu b/c where I had it the dog would run in it and steal some poop and take it to her dish and start eatting it! And now if I forget to close the baby gate, I bought so my cat can take a crap in peace with out the dog waiting for her to finish so the dog eat it, then the dog still continues to take big chunks and "chow down"!

My dogs did the same thing drove me nuts, every time i caught them at it i would wack them on the nose with rolled new paper or mag, finally they stopped, but every now again, i see them with nose candy [litter stuck to the nose]
I feed my cats freah meat and I think that is the attraction. I watched a program and elephants eat there own crap its to do with vitmins and minerals and such thing, probably its the same for them....... even though its disgusting lmao

Some animals still eat each other's poop, if they eat their own, it is sometimes to help them digest leftover food and maybe cat poop tastes good or helps the dog digest its food better. take it to a vet to be sure
