is there any safety policy name manslaughter's log in the united states of America?

i came across this word during a safety lecture in end of year safety seminar held in my country nigeria.

Have never heard the term. It could be that they were refering to the fact that in some states a drunk driver who causes a fatality may be charged with manslaughter.
