I recently read an article that stated we are all still living on the 7th day of creation.

As for the days of creation, the historic Church has taught for two thousand years that the “days” in Genesis were not 24 hours long, for three reasons:

The term day is used for more than just a 24-hour period.
For example, the phrase in Abraham’s day means his era.
The 24-hour day is measured from sundown to sundown.
Despite that, it wasn’t until the fourth day that there was a sun to rise or set.
The ancient Church understood Hebrews 3:16-4:11 to meanthat the seventh day of creation isn’t over yet.

What are your thoughts on this?

Here is the article I read, please take the time to read it thoroughly in order to answer my question:

Have you taken the time to read the article?

And where did I state that this theory was mine?

I asked a question about the article, not of my beliefs

Alot of post on this one. And all of them in error to boot! We are not in the seventh day yeat. The 7th day will be the day of rest for the church and for God. We are in the sixth day of creation. The Genesis account of creaton being 6 day does mean exactly 6 days. Six literal 24 hour day. This is affirmed in God onw finger when he gave the law. " I am the Lord your God who created the heavens and the earth in six day." he set it in stone for clearity.
On the forth day of the creation story this is the second time the story speaks of light. The 4th day is refering to God sending the spirit of the Lords Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into the earth to rule over the day and night. Thus after 4000 years God sent them. So in your reading of the creation you must consider the fact that in the story of Genesis God is speaking about psysical and spiritual events. It is known that man ages will be for 6000 years then the new kindom. The thousand years of Christ Rule over the new earth ane the new heaven. This earth is of great age. Yeat man has only been here for 5800 years or so depending on which jewish rabi you speak with. The reason the creation is speaking of 24 hours for a day is because unless it is 24 hours you can't substain life. God also said for clearity from the raising to the setting of the sun. Which means the day came and went like a normal 24 day. Also the creation order indicates that all have to come to pass very quickly as we have a co-dependant system being provided. Animals needed the plants and the plants needed the animals. One with out the other could not survive. Thus the thinking of a 1000 years between them is rules out. As many plants have to have the animals to provide for the germination of the seed and then also transport it to a new place. This indicated the whole creation would have been destroyed if we do not have a 24 hour day.
So in Genesis we have been given both a actual creation story of 6 literal day and a day of rest. And a revelation of spiritual events that are taking place over a 6000 year period and a 1000 rule of Christ. The modern church has been blinded to this fact. The same thing happens thru out the whole bible.
A example of this can be found in the prophets, God would tell a prophet to make a hole in a wall and to then go thru the wall. Then God would tell the prophet tell the people You shall be driven out of your country in a single night and shall make holes in the walls of your city and shall be driven from your homes. So the prophet was a physical proclumation of a spiritual event.

Not sure if you are a Christian, although through seeing that you read genesis as literal in many ways I would assume so. Ok, consider this for a moment, like a new prospective! That the Genesis creation story is allegorical and what is being referred in Hebrews is an truth of imminence importances. Lets consider some facts. 1) In Genesis there are two creation stories, Gen 1-2:3 is the first and the second starts 2:4, 2) Solely from a biblical prospective if God entered into rest from his works, and the 7th day represented completion of setting the laws/conditions then God did not resume work afterwards and when God rested into being, he rested. As spoken of in Hebrews, 4) so if he entered into rest what is the 2nd genesis story about? As God entered into his rest, what is this God now?

The truth is the laws were set in motion that would move all things to the omega, and what we have in the 2nd account is the laws in embodiment form of God, although God rested. However, then again this is allegoric, but I was just speaking from a scriptural point of view no reason to go further than this.

7th Day Of Creation

A day in the Bible is NOT a 24 hour day. That is correct; however, we are not living in the 7th day of creation. Where does the Bible say that??? There were six days of creation, and the 7th day was rest. MOVE ON.... We are living in the time of the end. Jesus tells us in Matthew, Chapter 24, when you see all these things, wars, eathquakes, plagues....know that the end is near. You need to focus on that...we are near the end, far off from creation. You need to seek Jesus and get ready for His return....IT IS SOON!

The Bible says that God "rested on the seventh day"

The equivalent you are thinking of postulates the theory that since " a thousand years is as a day to God", the Earth was created and is about 7,000 years old, thus God is in His seventh day of Creation.
I don't believe God is at rest. With all the fighting and bickering going on in this channel alone, well, you get my drift...

No, it's closer to the 14 Billionth day of when this universe happened. Don't listen to what the church says about cosmology. They usually get it wrong. Their sources are really outdated.
