I really don't think there is a right anwser for this. Why would you want to control things like pleasure or sadness. If you keep your emotions inside of you , you will be stuffing them, and sooner or later it is going to come out the wrong ways, and it is going to be one big mess, then you will have a huge problems. Sometimes a doctor or a shrink will give you medication that will do both of these, for depression, but then you are kind of like a zombie, not feeling anything, and that just is not the way to feel. You need to feel the feelings you are having . So go and talk to a doctor about this question and have him answer it, and i am sure that he will have a few questions for you too. God bless and take care, and don't take your emotions away from yourself, cause they are part of who you are.

I don't exactly know what you are asking but when I'm feeling down in the dumps I try to think of grest times. If that doesn't work; I'll put a really funny movie on the tube & soon I'm smiling again. Then when something sad happens;Like someone dying; I cry & cry. It's good to have a good cry sometimes...Kinda cleanses the soul....Hope this helps...

Become Vulcan, or the next best thing, study Zen Buddhism, ignoring the boring old Indian "love everyone" Buddhism.
