From my experience, the emcee the one who controls the situation. Especially important if something goes wrong, just divert their attention away by saying things like 'did you know that booth no. 11 is having this and this...how it was like playing the games...'

For me, I like to keep the crowd in the programme (if you have a good crowd). Since you have the mike you have the power to make small people feel big. Talk about someone's success or winnings and you'll spread the word faster than anyone can. This way almost everyone will feel better and enjoy their day.

Don't go umm...erm... too long. Don't know what to say? Just talk about the wether and your head will start thinking of something new. Good luck ! ^_^

Plan ahead some things that you could say so you don't have to think of things on the spot. Practice beforehand. Have a great time. It's a sympathetic audience, so there's nothing to be afraid of.
