What would you have to do? What steps would you have to take? What if a woman chose to study/be one abroad? Where would be best, would china, cambodia or possibly Nicaragua be any good?

Its impossible for me to attend more than once a month so it asked here. Although i do wish i could have a better connection to the community.

This is not something that you do lightly. If you're asking here, my guess is that you're not connected with a Buddhist community. That is absolutely your first step. Ordination as a monk follows after years of study, practice and commitment.

From other people's experiences, I would say that India would be a better choice for study abroad.
