No. It is not a split pot because it is based on the 5 highest cards. Player 1 wins with a pair of aces + queen kicker... with high cards of AAQ79.

I'd just like to confirm Miss D has the right answer. Texas Hold'em, like virtually every variation of poker is based off of the best 5 card hand.

And example of a splid would be AJ and AQ with a flop of 5,5,3,3,2, since both would have 5,5,3,3,A. But like said, in your example, the final hands will be:

Player 1 - A,A,Q,9,7
Player 2 - A,A,J,9,7

Always remember, best FIVE card hand, and you'll be fine.

NO, player 1 would have A,Q,9,7,5. Player two would have A,,J,9,7,5. Player 1 would win because his second highest card is higher than the second highest card of player 2.
