How do you qualify 'failed'? in this instance - do you mean 'Non medal winners' at the Olympics; Eddie the Eagle for instance, or someone who has 'only' won a silver medal? Someone who has repeated injured themselves in the struggle for 'top honours' - have they failed due to DNA, or simply trying too hard? Or do you mean 'cheats' who use performance enhancing drugs like nandrolone; EPO or HGH, and then get caught....getting there should be enough; only 1 in 100 humans ( made up statistic) reach their FULL potential as human beings. A little elaboration on failure might help you in your quest! Funding also goes a long way - anyone ever heard of a top formerly Russian athelete doing a full time job as a bricklayer before training - I don't think so....academies win top honours...it's there you root out failure, not in the limelight of the TV camera. Good luck.

Are you referring to the ashes whitewash?..I don't understand you poms. you could see this coming from way back, Don't blame your players mate!..Blame your 'officials', get stuck up the coach with his 1960's thinking, look at the twits in the MCC!...Lord Delpus, Sir Miles Pastitt and Lady Table, there you might find the problem!.After promising not to send injured players here, they then sent ..Trescothic..Flintoff..Giles..Vaughn and about 3 others with injuries!.And then chose Giles over Monty Panasar as the no! spinner!..Why?..Because he was a tradition English offy! He didn't spin the ball at all and got belted..That is a traditional offy in Australia!..1960's thinking!..So don't blame the players, get stuck up your administrators..There the ones to blame for it mate!..

Just face it mate. Us aussies are better than you pommies. You took the rugby world cup by playing dirty (within the rules I suppose) and the ashes last year. We took the world cup back(union), beat you at rugby league and took the ashes back 5 NIL

That might be over-reacting a little.

I would like to see lower basic pay & huge bonuses linked to results...but I don't suppose there's much chance of that.

Ever heard of it?

It's not the winning it's the taking part.

And how would you reward 'successful' criminals ?
