There is, of sorts, and they are called the New Atheists. Richard Dawkins is one such a person. He calls religion a virus and wants to chase it off the face of the Earth.

An easy-going Atheist like myself doesn't much care what you believe, as long as you don't push your morality on me.

Atheism isn't a religion or a belief system. It is a word that simply applies to anyone who doesn't believe in God - aargh!!!! Therefore, there is no such thing as a fundamentalist Atheist. Although there are probably little splinter groups of Atheists who get together and actively discuss their non-belief in God. But that would be just as dogmatic as believing in God, there would be no point to it and nothing would be gained from it.

I don't think so. There is no doctrine of atheism. "Fundamentalism" usually means a literal interpretation of text or mythology.

About all that can be said about atheist beliefs is that we DON'T believe in gods. Most of us also tend to form our beliefs (about anything) based on careful consideration of evidence and alternative explanations, as opposed to faith.

There is a humanist manifesto, but I don't think it includes the kind of content that could make anyone a fundamentalist humanist (as opposed to some other kind of humanist). Like me, many atheists are humanists, either formally or informally.

Atheists are independent and unorganized in comparison to religious groups. We are a largely misunderstood by the general public.

We tend to be more peaceful and law-abiding than other members of society. We tend to be more educated, scientific, and philosophical. Those of us who marry tend to divorce less than religious couples do.

Oh yes, but they don't have a belief system, they only believe in: "There is no God and the whole world should understand that, all religion is bad and should come to an end."

I am an atheist too, but not of that type.

Militant ones maybe - they just want to reject God at all costs and have become blind to the possibility of new evidence. It is a fraction of Atheists from what I have seen though.

We have a big book of nothing and nothing in it is true, so that when we say there is nothing there that is all there is.
