Most beer brewers will tell you just about anything that is salty. The salt enhances the alcohol and the flavor of the beer. You can go with the traditional standards, peanuts or mix nuts and pretzels or you can go with other salty items such as beef jerky or chips with salsa. In some places they serve pickled pigs feet, eggs or plain pickles. In the end its always something you like that is salty. I personally like a good meat lovers style pizza, COLD!! Nothing beats that after a hard days work.

Honey roasted peanuts! That's my favorite. The salty-sweetness contrasts really well with the sharp, bitter beer taste. MMMMmmmm.

Seriously, anything salty makes you thirsty, which makes the beer taste better, which makes you want to drink more, which is why bars sometimes offer free salty snacks. Eating also helps keep you from getting sick if you drink too much (which you shouldn't be doing! At least not too often!)

If you're going to snack, whether it's with beer or without, it's better to eat something like peanuts with plenty of protein instead of something with empty calories like chips or pretzels.

Chicken fingers. I don't know why but when you're drinking, you can't get enough of them and when you're eating them, you can't get enough to drink. It's a match made in heaven if you want to drink yourself to a state of 12 hour naps on your floor.
