Your ape comment will confuse. But I agree with the rest of your points, somewhat. Too bad Yahoo Answers doesn't have a way to reward more meaningful answers and discourage flippant ones.
I'm atheist and come here mostly for enjoyment and learning, but also to enlighten others, hopefully. A bible/koran quote will never convert me, of course, but intelligent discourse could.

Because it doesn't exist.
I am here to satisfy my curiosity of why people insist we evolved from apes.
I know it's a hard concept to grasp, but try if you will to imagine a tree with a trunk and two branches. A seedling sprouts, the tree trunk is growing, it eventually divides into two branches. One branch represents the primates (modern apes if that helps you understand better), the other branch represents man (humans).
The thing that connects the two branches is the trunk. The trunk represents our common ancestor. Does this help?

I offer you my sincerest apologies for “embarrassing” you, my good man. I will try harder to be less “primal,” as you put it. Although I do fail to see it as you do. I find there are glimpses of genius here, occasionally.

We did not evolve from apes. Apes and men had a common ancestor

You can choose to believe that you come from an ape. But I choose to believe that am decended from Adam and Eve, and that I am one of God's adopted children.
P.S. Why are apes still apes, and why are they in zoos?

If humans evolved from apes, why are there still apes?
And what does that have to do with the rest of your diatribe?
