it depends on a lot of things. how detailed would the tattoo be? how fast is your artist. if i had to GUESS i would say 10-15 hours. i don't know of any tattoo artists who would do a whole sleeve in one sitting. probably the full outline which could take 3-4 hours. and then take the shading and stuff in shifts of 2-3 hours.

First of all, no tattoo artist would advise you to get a tattoo in the palm of your hand... it just wont last. Even if you get it on the back side of your hand; it will fade faster than the rest of the dragon... but, not too bad (you'd probably have to get it touched up). But the answer on how long it would take would depend on how much detail and/or shading you plan to get. Rough estimate would be 4 hours.

i would say between 2 and 4 sittings of 2-3 hours each. keep in mind that tattoos on the pamls of your hands will fade away completely over time so it wouldnt look too good, maybe have the head ending on the top of your hand or on your wrist would be better.
I had a dragons head and flowers tattooed on my leg its about a foot long and 1/2 foot wode and it took 2 sessions of 2 hours but the whole thing was done with shading rather than outlines for each scale etc so it did take a lot of time.

The fact that u are asking this question shows that u dont have any tattoos already...which leads to the question, Why do u want a full length tattoo and on ur palm??????
I have tattoos, about 20hrs worth but i have made sure that i got them in places that i could cover in case i didnt get the bug.
After 20hrs worth i reckon i like tattoos and will be venturing down my arm next, but i am now in a position where i can do so.
Since i started getting tatts, there have been so many opportunities i would have missed out on if i had of gone down my arm to early...find a tatt, look for similar ones in books and the net, and if after a few months u like the same one still get it
I have an octopus on my upper arm that goes from my back around to my chest...and the amount of times i saw other ones i liked i am glad i waited...it is a Tony Ranger tatt that I had changed.
Dont get tatts cause every knob jockey that wants to look like he is in Good Charlottoe or Blink 182...get them for u but make it concealable before u know its what u want for ur body forever

Good luck mate

well, you would most prob have to do it over a few months, it depends how thick you want it, and on the tattooist that does it,
firstly they would look at your arm, talk about what you want to get, then they would draw it out, taking a template of your arm so it fits...
Then this is the bit that will be different for everyone, they may just tattoo the whole out line in one sitting, which would take a Lot of time, im talking 5-6 hours!!!!
OR they might want to do it over a few weeks, then after all the outline has relatively heald, they would do colour (or shading if you didnt want colour)

talk it over with your tattoist lol and make sure you get a good one, even if you have to travel and pay lots of money, getting a whole arm tattoo is a BIG job, and its gona with you for life so make sure its right for you.

Oh and dont listen to any1 who tells you tattoos are bad lol
Good Luck!!

That's a pretty neat idea. You can tattoo the palm of your hand without any problems- the ink penetrates plenty deep enough. Just be sure that after the healing process begins to keep it lotioned.

Get it done in sessions , my leg took 2 sessions and they were 4 hours long , this way the artist doesn't get tired and do sloppy work after so many hours ... My entire leg is done with flowers and 10-4 " hearts with white ribbon connecting all of them , inside each heart is the name of my kids , grandsons , my husband , and mine , the flowers surround the hearts and gives it a old Victorian look ,,, very pretty ,, for me ,,,, good luck on yours .!

It would depend on how much time you have to be there.
I know a woman who has her entire leg tattooed with a dragon, it took her 6 months to have it finished. Mainly because the tattooist would only work during the week.
You need to make arrangements with the tattooist and see how much time he/she has to devote to your art.
Hope this helps.

I would say several hours.....if they do it in one go. They might do the outline in one session and finish in another. It took 2 hours for mine (small-ish design on my lower back).
