The Rose by Bette Midler
Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower
And you, its only seed

It's the heart, afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It's the dream, afraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul, afraid of dying
That never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed
That with the sun's love, in the spring
Becomes the rose

Just read the words...should explain all

I have a few that I feel are among the greatest love songs.

Blue Rodeo - Lost together

Amanda Marshall - If I didn't have you

Jason Wade -of lifehouse- Beautiful

I relate strongly to each of these songs. Each song shares the same message ... but each with different words and different points of view.

There are many but some of my favorite are "In your eyes" by Peter Gabriel, "Angel" by Dave Mathews Band and "God Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. In each of these songs, the artists are professing their love for someone and giving reasons. They are passionate and sincere and can really give you tingles if you can relate...having someone in your life that you can sing those songs to and mean every word.

Bryan Adams "Everything I Do I Do It For You". It has the words that describe my idea of love. It fits, and I love that song. Unfortunately, I've never met a man who fits that description.

"Your Song" by Elton John. It describes the early stages of the relationship between me & my wife and was our wedding song.

There can be only one for me - "Hello", Lionel Richie.

I'm not entirely sure why. It just -is-.

However, there are about a hundred close seconds.
