Strong painkillers, such as Paramol (paracetamol + dihydrocodeine) every four hours; if that is not enough, you can add ibuprofen in between Paramol doses (two hours after Paramol). Don't hesitate to take painkillers for earaches, they can really make your life hell.

I am the ear infection queen, lost part of my hearing from it...

Until you can get into the dr in the am, use a heating pad or a hot water bottle and lay on it with your infected ear, have it partially on your neck below the ear as well... Turn it up as far as you can stand it, and just rest.

It WILL feel better, but you need to see a dr even after it feels better..Ear infections are serious. they caused me to be 70% deaf in both ears.. I had surgery and probably about 30% deaf now..

You could be bunged up causing this pain - try a decongestant in liquid medicine or tablet form or even an over the counter pain killer - the pharmacist could give you free advice at your local chemist. Failing that I'd get down the doc's, walk in centre or A&E

Good luck

Most likely the pain is coming from congestion. I would suggest some tylenol formulation with pseudoephedrine or Phenylepherine in it.
