This trick is to spice up a pre mix with an orange liquor. It can be as simple as Triple Sec, and as extravagant as Grand Marnier. This is the trick that many restaurants use.
So heres what you need...
-a mixing glass like the use in he restaurants (you can pick these up for pretty cheap at walmart or even pier one, and they come in handy for much more than margaritas....if your a dude ladies will think you are a slick playboy too)
-A medium priced margarita pre mix (dont cheap out on me here, but there is no need to get the most expensive since we are going to add what you would be paying more for anyway)
-A medium priced tequilla (once again you dont need the best because you are mixing it, but dont get that shitty sauza or even cuervo gold. I find that Cuervo Especial has always giving me the desired result....if you put in patron you are an idiot...that is way to good to mix, enjoy that by the shot chilled in your sweet as mixing glass. You truly are the man when you do, but watch out, it sometimes makes you mean)
-You can also pick up a margarita kit for about $20-$40 at some of the aforementioned retailers. It will come with glasses and the sweet-*** salt/lime kit. Not a necessity, but it will impress the ladies....and probably some dudes if you are into that.
-Now mix all parts as layed out on the pre mix bottle....usually 3 parts mix to 1 part tequilla (I usually do about 4parts mix to 2 parts tequilla because Im really manly) Now add your orange liquor of choice...not too much....only 1 part per 3 parts of mix. This is going to give your margarita that Applebees presidente taste if you know what Im talking about. Note: Mix in your mixing glass about half full of ice....got to be chilled pimp. Shake (with the top on genius) and strain into your glass of choice. Enjoy. A few of these mixed properly can start a night off right. Avoid activities like driving, flying a plane, and using a wood chipper. Stick to activities like mixing more 'ritas, dancing, and sex.

Takeaways.... Use a decent mix to start; Use a decent tequilla; Definately use some sort of orange liquor

I found the most important Ingredient is a good tequila. Do not go cheap get a good Añejo or Aged tequila such as Cabo Wabo in the blue bottle or Tres Generations. Good tequilas are smooth and will stop that bitter after taste. Next get a pre-made mix. Again do not skimp on quality. Follow the instructions on the back (which are normally two or three parts of the mix to one part tequila) Here is were I mix it up. I make it one part real lime juice, one part tequila and one part mix. I never go above one part lime, so if it asks for three parts mix I make it two part mix, one part lime and one part tequila. I like to put honey on the glass rim and then salt it. Remember if you make it frozen (mixing the ice with ingredients in the blender) this will dilute your mix.

My favorite recipe has a secret ingredient!
In a blender put about three oz. of tequila (more or less depending on your tastes) fill the blender with ice. Add Sauza margarita mix to about the 3/4 level. Blend until smooth.
Next add about a 1/2 can of beer! And mix.
the beer adds a lightness to the drink and it is very refreshing... excuse me I think I'll head to the blender!

1 part Dimiana Liquer (from Baja) - well chilled

Mix the tequila and liquer. Pour into glass. Use a spoon to run the curacao down the inside of the glass (it will slide to the bottom). Top with a splash of lime juice.

depends for how many you are making, beliving you are making only one, put a shot of any type of tequila, one shot of triple sec or Grand Marnier, i would go with Grand Marnier since is sweet, then put about 2-3 table spoons of country lime limoneade and add water and there you go, a top shelf margarita =p, in case you are making for a big party let me know.
