hey can anyone help me...
1.i had installed Ubuntu linux on my system but the problem is that its resolution is 640 X 480 .. which sucks big time and the problem is tat it is the only available resolution in the system settings.. though in windows i m able to go upto 1280 X 1024 .. i have a samsung LCD display monitor.. can anyone tell me how to increase the resolution in ubuntu as this is the only reason due to which i do not use ubuntu linux.
2. i want to know how to format ubuntu linux from my harddrive

1. Perhaps the Ubuntu cannot found the VGA driver (note: not monitor) needed, and since they can't found it, they it'll use a generic driver that mightn't be able to get full capability of your VGA and mointor. Find a Linux driver for your VGA.

2. This is illogical. You format harddrive with ubuntu, not the reverse. Ubuntu would ask to format your harddisk before installation.
