I saw a little girl with her family at the movies, and she had a fur coat with a flimsy skirt and flip flops. I thought I had mixed up someones top half with anothers bottom half, but no, that was one package. I've seen 5-12 yr old girls with those little skirts that barely cover up their ***. This doesn't turn me on at all, I just don't understand how some women pay money to dress their little girls up in a trashy manner. It's so tacky.

I agree that it is inappropriate. They are children and should have a chance to dress like children.
I think my parents were a little negligent about that because they thought it was "cute". Well so did boys 5 years older then me and that was very confusing for me.
With the really young children it is just frightening. I don't think people realize how many pediphiles there are out there. They are sick bastards who see these little dears dressed like hookers and get all excited. It is a dangerous game.

Well its not supposed to turn you on. Thats really creepy that you would say that, and I think women do it b/c since they have had that child they are no longer able to wear clothes like that anymore so they have to live vicariously through their children,
Its creepy b/c you act as if you should get turned on by 5-12 yr olds, yes I agree that there is a prob. with the way kids are being dressed but the way that you have worded this question makes it seem that your are upset that they have turned you off when you would normally be turned on by that age group
Maybe I just misunderstood your play on words.
Ok so when a man says that "This doesn't turn me on at all" what does that make you think. Im sorry I misunderstood you.
I don't know how this could have hit too close to home when I have no children and I am 22 yrs old,
YES I do agree that the way young girls dress is a problem, I agree so quit downing me.
Everyone around here is just a bit to jumpy about some issues.

I think there is a fine line between allowing your child freedom of expression in their clothing choice, and putting your foot down on what is appropriate for their age.
My oldest daughter works at a retail clothing store that carries clothing in children's sizes to adult - and they call the little girls dressed in inappropriate clothing "prostitots".
I happen to agree - as parents we are not there to be their friends - we are there to teach them to conduct themselves appropriately - dressing like a mini-ho is not appropriate.

Some parents don't really care what their children were!
They think its ok for them to dress like that! I seen girls dress up like skanks!
Some girls got control over their parents and are spoiled and dress like that for attention!

It's all a matter of individual tastes. Some like it "trashy" but don't know it's trashy. Sometimes they get tired of fighting with the kid and just let them dress the way they want to.

I think it's really sad. Obviously the parents are picking out the clothes for a 5-year-old.

I have a daughter in that age group. Those tiny skirts all have shorts underneath. They're made into it, usually in fabric that matches the skirt, or if it's denim, the shorts are navy blue.
I let my daughter pick her own clothes, and dress in what makes her happy. The human body is a beautiful thing, and I don't want her growing up ashamed of hers.
I don't worry about sex offenders or pedophiles or whatever you'd like to call them...My daughter is never unsupervised. She is never allowed outdoors alone. I don't believe clothing is what influences a sex offender, anyhow...Pedophilia is an illness and if some pervert is going to get turned on looking at little girls, he'll get turned on whether they're wearing a skort or overalls.
My neighbor is the opposite...he dresses his daughter in such large, loose fitting clothes that the poor kid falls down at least once an hour, from tripping on her pants legs, or from her pants falling down around her knees, or from getting her knee caught in the adult large t-shirts he makes her wear (she's only 7). He does it so that no one will be able to see the shape of her body. I think he's taken it to extremes.

Johnny Girl sounds off-base to me; you worded your question correctly. The criticism probably hit too close to home for her.
If parents think it is ok to dress their little kids like street walkers, (and allow their very young teens to dress themselves that way) they certainly aren't going to take criticism from anyone here. Western parents think they are perfect, and that no matter how bratty their kids are, we should love and respect them all.

i think its probably because of the images being portrayed by celebrites and in the Tv shows causing children fashion to slip into adult fashion where children now barely wears enough to cover themselves...
