Just want to know if any of your country is drying up with hardly any rain, and is it getting worse? Here is Aussie Land we are below 40% water in our dams. And getting worse. Probally due to this global warming stuff. So just curious as to find out if any part of Yankee Land is going through similar stuff. Water restrictions have gone up to stage three, and soon stage 4. I anybody gets caught abusing it it is a nasty fine and their water gets turned down very low, which means you will be able to wet a toothbrush and that might be it I think. And three strikes you are out, and you can go to Jail. Are you septic tanks going though that too?

Several parts of America are having less than average rainfall. Texas, arizona, colorado, california, to name a few. Oddly enough some other parts of US are getting too much rain or it comes in downpours and does damage with flooding and mudslides. Then the water runs down river and still the ground water does not rise because the water did not have time to soak into the ground properly.
Sometimes it seems the rain or snow comes all at once rather than a little at a time as it used to. But overall the state of Wisconsin gets less snow than it did back in the 1950s & 1960's because I was a kid then and had sooo much snow to play in but now my grandkids only have a few days in the winter to really see what snow is like. The Madison, Wisconsin area got about 10 inches of snow early in December and by the 20th of December it had melted. Many parts of the US are experiencing above average temperatures. Perhaps it is time for Aussieland to initiate stations that draw water from the ocean and remove the salt so it can be used wherever needed? I think California needs to do that because that state is buying water rights from farmers so they don't use the water to grow crops. Ain't that a howdee do?

Wow, that is harsh. Not a good time, eh?

The US is BIG like Australia - we have many different climates. I live in Pacific Northwest (Seattle area) and it rains LOTS here (like at this very minute - pouring down rain). But I lived in the South (Texas) where most people think it's always very dry. Not so - parts of Texas (and the Southwest US in general) are semi-arid to desert, but parts of Texas and the Southeastern US are heavily wooded and humid. However, there are almost always areas in the US suffering from draught conditions (in our summer/your winter months).

As a rule though, I don't think the government here is as absolute with water restrictions. We had restrictions in Texas occasionally, but people there are MUCH less environmentally aware than in other areas of the country and the officials didn't sternly enforce the rules. Too many people still subscribe to the "world is my trash can" mentality, I'm afraid.

I will say that water conservation is always an issue in this area - just more aware, I suppose.

Good luck and I'll do a rain dance for you .

it isnt caused by global warming-the polar caps melting will cause more humidity not less-more water covering land-yet some areas have much and little rain-part due to the wind and high pressures-and loss of trees and redirecting of water bodies-yet relax in Jesus-and come to the usa when your ready! thanks david-rain will start within a week and in the spring you will have torential down pores and flooding-I just feel that from Jesus. in the mean time share Jesus people are thirsty for God and help from above when they get thirsty for water.

No, we have more water than we can handle. Maybe it's not global warming. Maybe it's just Aussie warming.

In case you are wondering what a septic tank refers to, it is a tank which holds human waste.
