Don't worry about what she'll say. Just go ask her on a date. Or get her number and ask her a week from now during a SHORT phone call. But if she doesn't react well to that, or comes up with some excuse, you will know that she doesn't like you. If she likes you, she will be willing to see you on a date. She might take the date for free food, but you will be able to tell when she's not interested by the way she treats you and the way she behaves. But you need to get your feelings under control, or you might start hallucinating and misinterpreting everything she does. Good night!

OH yeah, I almost forgot . . . if you're an average guy, you have about a 10% chance with random girls, so I'd say that you have about a 10% chance that the girl will say "yes." Good luck!

OK, Mr_Bman has a point there. You can get the girl's phone number on the sly using the method he proposes (asking for the email address first). BUT it's an extremely bad idea. Why? You want to know if she likes you enough to give you her number, because if she doesn't you're wasting your time. If you trick her into giving you her number, you won't be able to check her interest in you as easily. So just ask for the number straightforwardly, and out of the blue. As in " . . . . By the way, what's your home phone number? . . . . " And then shut up and watch her response. Good luck!

Here's a trick--say this exactly--"Do you have an e-mail?"
Hand her a piece of paper and a trendy pen. They'll give that out much easier than a phone number because you don't appear to be hitting on them--go figure.
Now here's the slick part--when she's in the middle of writing her e-mail addy down you say "hey how about putting your phone number down too?"--most of the time they just keep on writing without batting an eyelash.

if you've never spoken to her, i would say... about 5%.

i personally wouldn't want a stranger (even if i know his name) to ask me out. but i don't know, that's just how i am. if she's the kind of girl who takes chances, then higher. 30% i would say.
