Not alone, but they have two main missions they can do: First, the "War on Terror," and second, keeping a lid on things until the Iraqis straighten out their internecine differences. In the second case, if they had any sense at all they'd already be there, but if one looks at the Hamas/Fatah civil war in Palestine, it's easy to be pessimistic. One hopes the Iraqi government with our support can suppress and negotiate their way to stability, but it's less than clear that al Maliki is the man for the job.

To make everything right, we have two choices.
1. Let the Democrats have their way. We pull out, and Iraq destroys itself just as it has done so for 5,000 years.
2. Let the Republicans have their way. We continue shooting every Iraq in the head (double tap) and eventually resort to nuking the country, but only after we have harvested all the oil first.

USA hasn't been smart enough and I doubt it will ever be (it's politics, you know. good guys don't do politics) able to make right in the middle east. I don't solely blame US. The ideas of radical muslims are no better than the US foreign policy. But since we are talking about what US has done, they have done bad and will keep up it's bad work.

It is possible to make substantial progress in the Palestinian -Israeli conflict. However, this administration has put it on the back burner because of the Iraq quagmire. Huge mistake, but what can one expect from the "axis of error'?

No matter what, they will hate us. Perhaps we have reinforced the hatred, but it has, and always will be there. Study up on Islam and you will understand, they will always hate us. We should let them have at each other, and fight till the death over some stupid religion. Once the winner emerges, we can go back and make them our B####es. Than all will be good.

Only option is kill them all. What the hell, I am sick of all the blood for oil nonsense, make it true. Butcher them and take the oil. Repeat as needed.
