No - disregard that it is difficult to get there for work, especially for Commonwealth citizens.

1. She can apply for a working holiday visa - this would enable her to have a 1 year working visa - with restrictions on hours per week though. This can be avoided through sponsorship if the employer chooses to employ her for longer than her visa allows.

2. There is a points system that enables immigration to Australia. Health care workers are sought quite heavily, though it does depend on - education, age and job experience. The points test is determined by DIMIA.

My best recommendation is the holiday work visa - I know of heaps of Brits that come to Oz on this and get work and float from city to city and are able to both travel and fund the journey.

The only criteria for a year holiday work visa is that she have a medical and xray - they are really fussy about TB for some reason and almost anyone going to Australia for longer than 6 months is required to do this.

Good luck!

It is quite difficult to emigrate to Australia, but there are a few means of doing it. You have to obtain a certain number of points based on certain criteria - these include fluency in other languages, education and training, whether you are married, skills and jobs you have held, relatives in Australia, enough money in the bank and a steady income, etc. If she has some qualifications in child care she will probably find it not to hard to emigrate as this is one of the sectors they need people in.

If she just wants a working holiday, it is easy to obtain a Working Holiday Visa: however, this is valid only for a year, and you can only work for one employer for a maximum of 6 months (recently increased from 3 months - you're lucky!), so it can be difficult to find employment. This is often the best way to emigrate though: work in Australia for a year and build up experience there, then apply for residency.

get a working Visa. To work in childcare the neccesary qualifications vary from state to state. I highly recommend geting a bluecard. It states that you are safe to work with Kids and many organisations request/require it.

Look on www.seek.com.au or www.careerone.com.au

You can apply for jobs from the UK.
