Why are there so many rude and ignorant people answering questions here?

I treat this site as educational, informative, interesting and sometimes challenging, obviously not sentiments shared by all who use Answers.com. Why are so many people rude or dismissive to the questioners?

I think it depends on how sincere, stupid, emotional, irrational, challenging, opinionated, or useful the question is to begin with.
Sometimes for me, the pronunciation or spelling is so poor, I have to skip over the question and move onto the next.
I feel this site is set up for entertainment purposes. It's all about what you chose to get out of it, and what you choose to give to it.
I, myself, try not to be rude, because I think it takes a certain amount of guts to put certain questions out there. You have to be prepared for the answers, for better or worse. See, now I wasn't rude!

Human nature. Most people are naturally rude and dismissive just because. Then of those who are left over, most are rude and dismissive if they don't agree with your question. I am sometimes rude and dismissive because I assume the question is more of a joke than a serious question and because sometimes you need a little humor. Your odds of getting an intelligent answer out of someone are really quite slim as most people hate putting themselves on a pedistal for the world to hate.

Well I think that some get tired of some on here that are just on here to play games and ask really off the wall questions. Its hard sometimes if the person that ask the question is serious or just on here playing. Most of the time if its a question that's off the chain I just ignore it and move on.

it is because of the fact they are only idiots. undeniable and straightforward. as long as you comprehend you're question is respected, then circulate forward and ask, and whilst an ignorant fool solutions, supply them a thumbs down, so which you do not might desire to verify their ignorant, stupid answer. Then only pay interest to solutions that are correct on your question. which will incredibly tutor you ways to concentration on solutions that truly are useful, fairly of starting to be you get disenchanted over those whose comments do not remember, and who're only mad because of the fact they did not get sufficient interest from their mama. Some people see this as a game and just answer to get points. Many others do use this seriously to ask and answer though.

Most of the people on here are children, teenagers and immature individuals in their early 20's. Most do not have enough world experience to responsibly answer a question. Especially the ones regarding religion and politics.

Because it's open to everyone and everyone is different. I ask and answer things seriously but also do the same playing around as it can be fun to not be serious all the time

agreed. at the political sections, it's called arguements. in the religion and spirituality section, all kinds of insults comes from atheists (is Jesus impotent), evolutionists(why are all Christians incredibly dim), and many more such questions, simply having no respect and tolerance for others' belief. ironically, they're the ones who claim that christians have no room for them.

You have to admit, there are some pretty stupid questions out there. Yahoo answers has proved to me that yes, it is possible to have a dumb question.

I have another question- why would one ask such an obvious question?

They can sit behind their screens and feel safe to be rude because they know you can't hurt them. In reality they know that if they act that way in public someone would cave their face in. So they get a kick out of "getting away with something" here they can't do in real life. Do your best to ignore them, they don't deserve your attention.
